An Eco decoupage Art is launched to raise awareness of (SLE) and part of the proceeds goes to Lupus Society. Lupus survivor Sylvia Sim’s personal sharing. Her encounter with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) at the age of 24 and survived it for the last 42 years. Lupus is unpredictable and can attack any body organ. It attacked her heart, lung and bone structure over the years which seriously affected all her limbs’ motor skills’ coordination. Long term medication also took it’s toll on her hearing and also lost her singing voice. Due to her physical condition, she was unable to have a full-time job. However, Art has kept her alive all these years. She is a Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts graduate in sculpturing form. Through her passion for Art, she created her own unique form of Decoupage, which involves paper cuttings, thus, coordinating the movements of finger work and the brain. At the same time, it is therapeutic as the mind is tuned to a relaxed mode. Through Art, she would like to raise awareness that people who suffer from lupus, although a lifelong and life-threatening disease, can still live a useful and meaningful life. She lost her health through lupus but discovered her own way to inspire herself and others about healthy living. Slyvia is 67 years old now and she hopes to form a group of Art Crafters to provide art pieces to sell at our Lupus Support Group booth at TTSH. So, come on down and join us in this Art Jam workshop to create your very own lamp light from recycled wine bottles. Together, we Light up and Disperse Darkness and sadness. **Payment Mode: Paynow to UEN 202024252E or Paylah to 96338139 to secure a slot.
